Today is my favorite day in the Church calendar. Maybe it's morbid or something, I don't know, but I've always found the solemnity and intensity of Good Friday to be awe-inspiring.
That even in the darkest moments of all of human history, when we were convinced God was DEAD, we could still find hope. That right around the corner from our worst moment was humanity's best moment--our salvation with the resurrection of Jesus.
It's easy to keep Jesus in the tomb in our minds. It's easy to believe He is gone and dead. BUT - even in the midst of the darkness, we can have hope. The tomb will be empty. This world is not our home.
This is one of my favorite videos of all time, and one I post across social media platforms every year: What's so good about Good Friday?
Hint: Watch until the end. 😉
