I am BACK from Ohio and celebrating my sister's start to med school, and ready to talk all things medicine and bioethics!
A San Francisco-based startup biotech company called Conception announced this week they will be rolling out a new innovation called in-vitro gametogenesis, in which they plan to grow human eggs from stem cells in a laboratory.
Essentially, they plan to erase the role of women in conceiving children and motherhood all together by creating new human beings that otherwise never would even be conceptualized, let alone conceived. Conception says this will be groundbreaking technology to allow same-sex couples to conceive biological children and will play a key role in eliminating diseases like Alzheimers, cancer, etc.
Can someone say Brave New World??
